German Wine in the Media | November 2020

Here is our November 2020 collection of English language blogs, news, podcasts, and any other media covering German wines.

The first edition Trink Magazine is online. The newly launched digital magazine is an outlet for 'a near obsession with a somewhat hidden universe of wines, people, places. Those of Austria, Germany, South Tyrol, and German Switzerland.' Founders Valery Kathawala and Paula Sidores have assembled a line up of expert contributors for these regions -  BottleStops is very proud to be amongst them.

In Vinous 12 somms talk about wine trends they wish would catch on. Riesling gets mentioned twice... thrice, had they asked us as well. But then doesn't riesling get hailed as a trend every year?

Also in Vinous, german wine expert David Schildknecht is reviewing the 2018 vintage of Mosel and of Rheinhessen. Rightfully, the varietal Sylvaner gets a special shoutout.

Wine critic Jamie Goode, in Wine Anorak, claims German Spätburgunders reach new heights as he examines Germany's 2017 and 2018 Spätburgunders (Pinot Noir) - a recap from the 2020 VDP Grand Cru tasting in Wiesbaden earlier this year.
