German Wine in the Media | January 2021

Here is our January 2021 collection of English language blogs, news, podcasts, and any other media covering German wines.

Wall Street Journal reports that the use will impose new tariffs on wines imported from France and Germany - in wines with an abv above 14%... Which will then hardly effect German wines at all, with 13.5% already being considered high.

In Forbes Susan H Gordon hosts German wine writer Stephan Rheinhardt for a roundup on Gewurztraminer. Rheinhardt does not refer to any Gewürztraminer (in this case with an umlaut Ü) from Germany. Perhaps there is none worth a note?

In Wine Enthousiast German wine writer Anne Krebiehl explains the intrinsics of altitude and wine. This includes a most interesting stint exploring effects of the step slopes' top and bottom on Peter Lauer's wines of the Saar valley .

In The Buyer, Peter Dean pays respect to respekt-Biodyn winemakers of Austria and Germany.
